Background of study:The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology requires digital electronics learning to be oriented not only toward theoretical understanding but also toward contextual and applicable practical experiences. However, the implementation of Digital Electronics practicums for Physics Education students still faces limitations in integrated practicum media capable of connecting the concepts of logic gates, sensors, microcontrollers, and internet-based data monitoring.
Aims and scope of paper:This research aims to develop and test the feasibility of an IoT-based Trainer Kit to support Digital Electronics course practicums for Physics Education Study Program students.
Methods:This study used the research and development method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The products developed were an IoT Trainer Kit and a practical module. Data were collected through validation questionnaires from subject matter experts, media experts, student responses, and educator responses. The field trial subjects consisted of 25 students taking the Digital Electronics course. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively through a feasibility percentage.
Result:Validation results showed that the Trainer Kit received a feasibility score of 96.94% from subject matter experts and 93.89% from media experts. Small group trials received a score of 88.89%, field trials received a score of 82.72%, and educator responses received a score of 82.48%.
Conclusion:The IoT-based Trainer Kit developed is considered highly suitable for use as a medium for digital electronics practicals. This product has the potential to support more interactive, applicable, and relevant practical learning in line with developments in IoT technology.
