Publication Ethics and Misconduct Policy

de Partial: Journal of Mathematics Education and Integration is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and to promoting academic integrity. This statement outlines the responsibilities and ethical principles to be followed by authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. Our ethics policy is adapted from COPE guidelines, Elsevier’s ethical standards, and international best practices.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that submitted work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism or unethical duplication.
  • Manuscripts must not be under review or published elsewhere at the time of submission.
  • All authors listed must have contributed significantly to the research and approve the final version of the manuscript.

  • Authors are responsible for correcting errors or retracting the paper if a major issue is identified post-publication.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • They must ensure a fair, impartial, and confidential peer review process, protecting the identity of authors and reviewers.
  • Editors will investigate ethical concerns and alleged misconduct and take appropriate actions, including retraction or correction if necessary.
  • Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial or political influence.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must assess manuscripts fairly, objectively, and in a timely manner, offering constructive feedback.
  • They must maintain confidentiality and avoid sharing or discussing content with unauthorized individuals.
  • Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest and decline reviews if bias is suspected.
  • They should alert the editor to relevant published work not cited by the authors or any potential overlap with other manuscripts.

4. Duties of the Publisher

The publisher of de Partial supports the editorial team in maintaining academic integrity and ensures that commercial interests do not interfere with editorial decisions. The publisher is committed to digital preservation and long-term open access availability of all content.

5. Policy on Publication Misconduct

de Partial takes all forms of publication misconduct seriously, including plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate submission, and unethical research practices. When misconduct is suspected:

  • The editorial team will follow COPE-recommended procedures to assess the issue.
  • Authors will be given the opportunity to respond to allegations with supporting evidence.
