Withdrawal of Manuscript

Article Withdrawal Policy

Authors are generally not permitted to withdraw submitted or published manuscripts unless there are compelling and well-documented reasons. Manuscript withdrawal is strongly discouraged as it wastes valuable academic resources, including the time and effort invested by editors, reviewers, and the publisher in processing the submission.

Withdrawal Procedure

If an author insists on withdrawing their manuscript, the following steps must be taken:

  • The author(s) must complete and submit an Article Withdrawal Form.
  • The form must be signed by all authors, or at minimum, by the corresponding author on behalf of all co-authors.
  • The form must include a clear and detailed explanation of the reason(s) for withdrawal.
  • Authors should not assume withdrawal is granted until formal confirmation is received from the editorial office.

Unethical Practices

It is considered unethical to withdraw a manuscript from Journal of Religious Studies for submission or acceptance in another journal. Such practices undermine academic integrity and are contrary to international standards in scholarly publishing within the field of religious studies.
