Background
Angguk Mugi Rahayu art is a traditional art in the village of Klapagading, Wangon, Banyumas, which shows the pattern of Islam and has a unique movement,lyrics, and appearance. This art combines Arabic and Javanese lyrics that contain Islamic values, making it important to be described and preserved.
Aims
This study aims to describe in detail the process of implementation of the art of Angguk Mugi Rahayu, as well as analyze and explain the meaning of the verses contained therein.
Methods
This study uses semiotics approach (cultural research) with qualitative/Cultural Research Methods. Roland Barthes ' semiotic theory is used as a knife of analysis to study the denotative and connotative meaning of the lyrics of a poem. Data collection was conducted through observation (through YouTube video recordings), interviews (to four key speakers from the studio and village), and documentation.
Result
The results showed two main findings: first, the implementation of Angguk Mugi Rahayu art was carried out systematically in three stages: the beginning, core, and closing. Second, the meaning of the poem is analyzed through denotative meanings derived from Indonesian, Javanese, Kawi, and Arabic , as well as connotative meanings that are full of value. These connotative meanings include messages of gratitude to Allah SWT, the importance of manners, imitating the Prophet Muhammad as an example, and the virtue of blessings.
Conclusion
Angguk Mugi Rahayu art is a traditional art that reflects cultural acculturation with strong Islamic values. The procession of the performance is structured in three parts, and the lyrics of the verse carry a deep moral and religious message, especially emphasizing gratitude, ethics, and respect for the Prophet Muhammad.
